Bahtiyar Engin: An actor across stage, screen and animation

Explore Bahtiyar Engin’s conservatory background, theatre and television work, animation characters and selected dubbing credits.

Conservatory training and acting disciplines

Bahtiyar Engin graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1991. His career combines theatre, cinema and television acting with voice work. Each field offers a different entry point into his biography. A role seen on screen and the voice of an animated character are works by the same artist under different production conditions; exploring the portfolio with that distinction gives a clearer picture.

Geçmişin Gölgesi in the City Theatres archive

Istanbul City Theatres credits Bahtiyar Engin alongside Ahmet Saraçoğlu in Macit Koper’s Geçmişin Gölgesi, directed by Barış Dinçel. [1]

Television genres and characters

Engin’s television list brings together period drama, crime, drama and comedy. Recorded roles include Turgut in Vermem Seni Ellere, Tuncay in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz and İdris in Kuruluş Osman. Gülizar, Kollama and Ulan İstanbul also feature in the selection. Productions from different periods and genres make it possible to explore his television career beyond a single role.

Animation, cinema and advertising voices

The voice portfolio includes Nigel in Finding Nemo, Earl Devereaux in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Maru in Planes: Fire & Rescue. Film credits also include Governor Weatherby Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Advertising work for A101, Fibabanka and Pizza Hut represents another recording context. These examples provide a framework for listening separately to character, narration and commercial work.
